Mother's Day Activities

Mom invited me over to a Mother/Daughter luncheon in the Baptist Dining area on Friday.  I went over early to work on her computer, she got a manicure and I fixed her hair.

I also had finally loaded pictures on her digital frame that Kenna gave her for Christmas and I showed her how to view those.  She loved them.

We went down to the luncheon and sat with a few of her friends that she lived by in her independent living apartment. We had chicken salad croissants, fruit salad & pea salad.  Great Lunch Mom!   Thanks for inviting me.

This little lady is a friend of Mom's. She gave mom rides after she sold her car.

Flowers that Kenna sent.  Memories of Mom's garden in Martha.

Mac called earlier in the week and invited Mom and us to Tulsa for lunch on Sunday or he would come over to OKC on Saturday.  Mom wanted him to come over and help her with her flower garden that she is trying to get started behind her building.  She will be able to see them from her window.

Saturday morning, Mac loaded up his car with tools, Morgan and Mary and headed to OKC.  When Don and I got to her apartment about 11:30 she had them all out back already working.

We broke for lunch. She had reserved the small dining room for us because she wanted it to feel like we were eating in her dining room.

Mac was ready to get back to work and we headed back out to the garden.  Mom had told me earlier in the week that she just wanted us to come over to lunch and for me not to stay and work.  So Don and I headed home.

Mom said they all worked hard helping her with her garden. They got done in 3 or 4 hrs things that she never would have gotten done because of the lifting and digging.  She was so happy!

Now she will be waiting for the flowers to add some color to her life.  That doesn't mean she is finished or that she won't be out there everyday.  SHE WILL!!  That's what makes her happy.

She has been planning this since she moved in.  I know she has!

Don and I went home and rode the scooter to Lake Hefner on the back roads. We walked 5 miles on this nice cool day and then made it back home all in one piece.  I still am not comfortable on the roads with the big cars.

  1. Yes, we all worked and it helped me so much. Mac set the water timer before he left and it seems to be working. I'm going to Walmart tomorrow morning on the bus to get a new 25 foot hose. The one I'm using is probably 10 years old.

Thanks to all who helped me. I love you.jdm
