Walking was hard today!

Starting walking about 7:40 this morning and after 15 miles, 4hrs & 50 min at a pace of about 19 min a miles I made. I called Don and he picked me up at the golf course about 12:45 because I didn't want to walk back up the hill towards the house. Listening to my audiobook helps but today it was hard from the beginning. I guess my heart wasn't in it. When I got back home I asked Don to go and get sandwiches. I ate, took a shower and slept until about 4:00. After a coke I perked up a little. My feet are a little tender. Watching tennis and working on the blog tonight.

Last Day in Yellowstone  8/15/10
Marilyn is heading home today and we hate to see her go. We had such a great time with her and hopefully we will be able to do a trip with her again, sooner than later.

We hadn't geocached much around West Yellowstone so today we were going to concentrate on that.  I wanted to make sure we got caches in Montana, Wyoming and Idaho before we went home.  Most of the caches in Yellowstone are earthcaches and that means questions are asked and you have to find the scientific answers. That is hard for me.

We were going to be retracing some of the same places we had already been to answer the questions for the caches.

We saw another bald eagle.

I didn't notice this hot spring being different colors like the rainbow until we had to read the info for the geocache.

Went back to the Old Faithful area again to find a view earthcaches. As we were walking around the Giant Geyser went off.  Very high eruptions and for quiet awhile.

Beehive Geyser cache, a cone shape geyser.
We hiked up a hill to the observation point to watch Old Faithful go off and take a picture for an earthcache.

Solitary earthcache was going off when we got there and I tried to get this guy to take the picture as it was going off but he was a little slow.
I had to get a picture of a guy flyfishing, he actually caught a fish after I quit taking the pictures.
The sign says it all!!

Leaving West Yellowstone 8/16/10

We got up early on Monday to get to the airport in Bozeman, MT it was about 1 1/2 hr drive. Left the Worldmark resort, which by the way was perfect for see Yellowstone, and took Hwy 191.  Actually the airport is in Belgrade, MT.

As we were driving Don spotted a grizzly along the tree line across the river. We stopped along with an 18 wheeler and watched him for about 10 minutes. The rest of the trip home was uneventful thank goodness. Picked up our car in Albuquerque and got home about 8pm. Abby was glad to see us. We were tired but had a great trip to Montana. THANKS AGAIN MARILYN!!!!
