Christmas 2010

Wanted to show you some of my Christmas decorating before it goes back into the attic.

The ornaments on the tree are mostly handmade by me, Ricki or mother

Great wassail

Christmas Evening with the Family

Don and I went over and ate lunch with mother on Christmas Day then we brought her back to the house with us.

Kenna & Don, Cody and Paige & Rob came in about 2:00 from Duncan.  They had been there with Don's daughter's for Christmas Eve. It was the first time for us to meet Rob and Ari.

Paige, Ari, & Rob

Then Ricki, John and Chris came over. It is so good for them to be close, she was able to bring several items that I needed for the dinner. John even went back home for some folding chairs only a half a mile away.

Mac, Mary and Morgan were next to get here about 4:00.

We were waiting for Ray's family to come when Rob and Paige started talking about heading back to Austin before dinner.  That was when I said time for family pictures.  It was getting dark and I knew if we waited longer I won't get them done.  Everyone complains about taking them but they will be glad I did later. I know they will!!

Ari was very interested in Abby & John kept Abby entertained most of the evening. We are keeping her leashed still because of her back.

The girls were getting the meal in the oven so it could cook while we had presents for the kids.

Ray's family got here about 5:00. I didn't get a family picture of them.  I decided to have presents so if Paige and Rob wanted to leave before dinner they could.

Cannon playing with his new train

We finally had all nineteen here and time for presents. We only do presents for the kids.  The rule is if you are out of college no more presents.  That means Ari, Channing, Cannon, Chris and Morgan were the ones that got gifts from the families.  Chris and Morgan got mostly money and gift cards and the kids got toys.  It was fun to see which ones they chose to play with first even if it wasn't their present.

Everyone was ready for dinner. Mary brought a Greenburg smoked turkey, homemade ravioli & a chocolate pecan pie. They all were yummy!! Ricki brought baked beans & any supplies I didn't have.  Kenna brought 3 pies and a to die for chocolate & caramel dessert.  I made an spinach/artichoke dip, red pepper/cream cheese spread, a salsa dip, an olive spread on rustic bread & and a cranberry mayo spread for the turkey sandwiches. All of it put together was tooooo much.  There was also chex mix, cake balls and cashew clusters. The meal was delicious, mom said it was better than a regular Christmas dinner. The only problem we have is finding a place for everyone to sit and eat.

Paige and Rob decided to eat and visit a while before heading out. Mac and Mary also said that they were going to head to TX after dinner to get closer to the San Marcos outlet mall and casinos.  They were heading to San Antonio to the Alamo Bowl where OSU will be playing on Thursday.

After dinner there was a flurry of goodbyes, kisses and hugs as two families were leaving.

I'm always there with the camera, LOL!!!

After visiting with Ray's family for a while, Ricki said they were going home to have Christmas with Ray's family.  Ray is going to be moving to New York the first of January, changing jobs. He now lives in Kingfisher. Can't believe that is happening when Ricki finally got back to OKC.

Kenna and Don took Mom home.  She was worn out from a day of visiting. They came back and spent the night with us. Cody was also here.

A fast and furious Christmas but it is so good to be with family!   We missed our other family that wasn't able to be here hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.  Here are some other pictures of the night.  Enjoy!

Christopher is Sixteen!!

Last night we picked up mom and headed over the Ricki's for Chris's 16th birthday party.

After thinking about it I don't think I have every been with him on his birthday. That is a shame. I'm sorry Chris. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

He is a boy of few words but has grown into a great guy.  He was a huge help to Ricki and John in the move and is the house wizard with all the electronics. He got some new headphones from Ricki & John.  He was very willing to move back to Oklahoma which would be a big change for a kid in his sophomore year of high school. I hope he likes it in OKC & makes some good friends.

These are his other grandparents, Judy and Tom

Today I did some cooking and last minute shopping with Ricki. Tomorrow Don and I will go over to Mom's for lunch and bring her back to our house where everyone will show up sometime in the afternoon. We are having our Christmas celebration in the evening.

We are expecting Kenna, Don, Cody, Paige, Rob, Ari, Ricki, John, Chris, Ray, Lacie, Cannon, Channing, Mac, Mary, Morgan, Mom, Don and I.

We will be missing Stacy & Lori's family. We haven't heard from Scott hope we can see him sometime this weekend.

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas!!
