West Yellowstone to West Thumb

8/12/10   Thursday
Our destination today is West Thumb, the south end of Yellowstone Lake.  We were going to stop at some of the pull-outs that we missed the first day because of crowds, stop at Old Faithful again and then to Yellowstone Lake. Easy parking, crowds were thin at 7:30am and the temperature was about 37 degrees.  Fountain Paint Pot was the first stop.

Next is Biscuit Basin

We got to Old Faithful about 9am so the crowd wasn't as big and parking was a lot easier.

After we watched the eruption again we walked the boardwalk to see the largest concentration of geysers in the world which are in this area.

This was our second spotting of a Marmot and it was trying to get away.

Not going to get this day done. My eyes are closing.
