All the pictures above were Ricki’s early years at Martha & Mangum. She went away to college. I was married & in college and I’m sure we saw each other the next few years at holidays but I don’t remember much about what was going on with her. She got married, had Ray & moved around a bit & divorced. She worked and lived in Stillwater raising Ray and I remember going to see her and she would come to Edmond when I got divorced.
When I married Don, we started doing craft shows together in Stillwater and OKC. We saw a lot of each other during this time.
She moved to Tulsa, married John, and had Christopher. She was then a busy Mom again with a teenage son, Ray and a baby boy, Chris. Besides being a wife to a husband making partner in an accounting firm. We kept in touch while she lived in Tulsa and I knew she was close.
Then John’s career changed and they moved to Pennsylvania, Maryland & Kansas for about seven years. I missed her. She gained a lot of weight & was having health problems. She decided to have lap band surgery in Oct 2009. Ricki's lap band story.
In a very unexpected job change for John, they moved back to Oklahoma City last January and we are all happy!! He is the CEO of Epworth Villa which is a retirement community about 1/2 mile from my house. Chris is a Junior in high school is going to Crossings Christian School. Ricki has lost 135 lbs and is healthy & happy again.
Ricki & I walked 60 miles in 3 days last Nov. Mrs. CEO at Epworth Villas
Ricki has always been an extremely hard worker. Any job she takes on she takes charge, moves fast & gets it done & she expects everyone else to do their job the same way. She is a little obsessive about things & she knows it. She is a great cook, knits, crochets, & a crafter.
I dare anyone to find someone that can pack up a house and move faster than she can. She has had a lot of practice. She is a great handyman and can put anything together.
She didn’t like to go shopping but I am trying hard to change that. We spend a lot of time together.
She is here to help with mother. I didn’t know I needed the help but it sure is nice to have it. During the summer while I was gone it was a great relief for her to be here with her.
She takes care of Abby for us when we go on vacations. That is BIG!!
Can you tell I love her. I expect you to stay healthy and grow old with me.
Happy 57th Birthday, Ricki
