Susan G Komen 3Day 60 mile Walk for the Cure

I met up with my little sis, Ricki, Wednesday night at the Dallas airport where our older sis, Kenna picked us up.  As we were waiting for Kenna a girl came up to us and asked "Are you walking the 3Day" and of course we responded yes.  She said she knew by the duffel bags.  Her name was Patti and she was from Philadelphia. This was her 7th walk.  In the next few days we met up with Patti and another girl from Philly, Linda. In fact, we walked with them the last day. More about that later.

Kenna took off work on Thursday and Friday to visit with us and support us. Thursday morning we got up slowly and congregated in her bedroom taking turns in her massage chair.  After showers and breakfast we headed over to Colin Creek Mall (start of the walk) to make sure we knew how to get there the next morning & how long it would take. After a fun lunch at Madeline's we headed home to finalize the packing & a spaghetti dinner for some carb loading.

The big day is here!! I can't believe it.  When I started training in May I didn't think it would ever get here.

We got up at 4:30 to be there by 6:00 am.

The advice from an experienced walker said to be at the front. We were told to report in at 6:30 but when we got there at 6:00 it was buzzing with walkers and crew many in costumes and mainly in pink.
