This is another update that I need to do about Thanksgiving.
Kenna & Don came to OKC on Wednesday afternoon and went mom’s to pick her up and then we went over to Ricki’s for dinner. Cody came in to Ricki’s about 5:00 from Mangum. We had a great meal and competition on the ping pong table. LOL
Mom wanted to be in the kitchen to hear what was going on.
John in some down time!
Chris showing us some of his acquired guitar skills
Cody stayed with Ricki and Kenna & Don stayed with us. Lori and Jeff weren’t able to come & Paige and her family were in NY visiting Rob’s family. Don’s girls Mindy and Liz were busy with their families and missed the dinner but Liz & her family came by Thursday evening and visited with us for a while.
Ray and Lacie weren’t able to make the trip back with their little ones but we talked to them from the dinner table.
Scott and Stacy weren’t in town either. Stacy had visited us on a quick trip to town the week before.
Ricki and I hosted at the clubhouse in my neighborhood. Mac, Mary & Morgan drove in from Tulsa about 11:00. Ricki cooked side dishes of broccoli/cauliflower salad (yum), corn casserole, sweet potatoes, cranberry salad, lots of snacks & pumpkin pie crunch. Mary brought the turkey, ham and fudge. I made the dressing, gravy, yeast roll. & buttermilk & pecan pie. I probably forgot some of the food but that is most of it.
Mary and I carving that turkey up!
Nanny talking to the kids. Chris couldn’t take his eyes off of his phone and texting (teenagers).LOL
We got a smile out of Cody!
Notice Don’s fashionable shoes (he’s having some foot problems).
Ricki is telling Mac how it is!
Kenna isn’t too sure about that.
Now Morgan is too sure!
John was working at Epworth serving the employees Thanksgiving lunch before he made it to eat with us.
Our family enjoying Thanksgiving dinner! Look Ricki can’t stay off the phone either!!
Who is taking that picture!! How did I get in here?
Who does this look like? (Dad)
After we were stuffed and cleaning up, the photographer came to take pictures. She brought a black bench and old suitcases for props. We added the pumpkins. She wanted to take them outside but it was very windy and cool. She finally decided on a spot behind the clubhouse.
John is asking approval from Ricki!
Another great Thanksgiving with family in the eyes of ME!
I love writing a blog because I get to add any caption I want to, to the pictures. Actually I have no idea what was going on at the time of the pictures.
Oh yes! I almost forgot. The next day was Black Friday. So I didn’t want to miss the excitement of standing in the lines at midnight so I recruited Chris and Ricky to go with me. I really didn’t have anything I had to have but wanted to see if we could get in. We went to Best Buy first, waited a while until we decided we wouldn’t get anything. Then we went to ToysRUs. Chris & Ricki had a few things they wanted to get. We stood in line about 45 min.
We got in the store and found a few things but the line to the check out was at least another hour so we left without buying anything.
Then we went to Walmart. Walked around the store and left without buying anything. We got home about 1:30. I had a fun time but I don’t know if I will get them back out next year.
Ricki & I went out shopping on Saturday. We went back to ToysRUs first. It was raining, I was driving so Ricki got out and was walking fast to the store. I had parked by one of those shopping cart parking things. As I got out to run to the store & trying to put my umbrella up at the same time I caught my toe on the metal stand and did a belly flop onto the ground. I hit both knees, my palms and my chin on the parking lot asphalt. I guess I let out a yell because Ricki came running and picked me up. I was embarrassed and tried to act tough but my knees were hurting but nothing was broken. We shopped the rest of the day. Nothing stops me SHOPPING! I was OK the next day except for scabs on my chin.
I went back to Best Buy on Sunday and bought a Toshiba Thrive tablet. It was a 8 gig and I really wanted a 16 gig but the 8 was a fantastic price and I was happy. When I got home we were reading reviews on the internet and saw a website that had a 16 for only $5 dollars more. So I bought it and was going to take the other one back. After Don talked to his sister, Paula, she wanted it and we took it to her when we went to Phoenix. I got mine delivered the day before we left for Phoenix.
I am a happy GIRL!!! I love my electronics
